Beams
The Beam Box is an infrared doorframe adjustable device that works in relation with a strip of reflective tape and should fit the typical door. The beams are the small box with the telephone type (RJ-12) connector on the back.
q
The beams should be mounted 60 inches from the floor on the hinge
side of the doorframe. Measure 60 inches
from the top of the Beam Box mounting bracket to the floor.
Note: This may be on the left or
the right. The box may be mounted
on either side.
q
Situate the box in a horizontal position so that the three LED
light’s (Green, Red, Green) are facing into the showroom.
q
Place the reflector on the
doorframe opposite the door counter. With the reflector in a vertical position measure 60 inches
from the top of the reflector to the ground.
This will insure that the beam hits the reflector in the center for best
reflection.
q Mark a spot within the slot on the top and the bottom of the box.
q Drill 1/8-inch pilot holes.
q
Place box on the door and insert screws.
Typical
Beam Mounting Setup
The following example is representative of a typical door entry. When properly installed the two green and one red light should be visible when standing inside the showroom facing out. Configuration may require adjustment to accommodate a different style doorway.
The diagram below represents the Beam box as viewed from behind when the door counter is mounted directly to the door frame.
